Rationale
The noninvasive prosthetic arm device should help restore forearm and hand movement that mimics certain apsects of anatomical function of the lost limb to perform tasks involving grasping
- Use interactive neural input to allow user to move arm in 1 degree of motion
- Use muscular cues to allow user to initiate grasping motion in hand
Problem Statement
The goals of the device are to:
1. Respond to user commands
1. Respond to user commands
- Electrodes placed on the scalp record signals from intended action from the motor cortex area of brain
- Determine desired frequency ranges and code to generate desired action of prosthetic and hand separately
- With feedback to stop action at a specified force
